ESA, NASA revive ExoMars project
In 2025, ESA and NASA took major steps to jump-start the grounded development of the life-searching rover for the Red Planet. First, a European aerospace contractor was tapped to lead the development of the landing platform for the ExoMars project after Europe had dropped the Russian hardware in response to Putin's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Before the end of the year, NASA also re-confirmed its commitment to provide a launch vehicle, a propulsion system and a radio-isotope heater for the program.
