After 45 years of CERN and 26 years of Fermilab doing the same thing, for the first time ever, 92 antiprotons were not just produced - they were trapped, loaded onto a truck, and driven across the CERN campus without touching ordinary matter. To put those 92 antiprotons in perspective, it’s about 0.15 zeptograms, if annihilated, would come to roughly 6.6 picograms of TNT equivalent. That’s closer to the energy in a single dust that anything resembling an explosion.
