Space Force Opens New Satellite Antenna Competition

The Space Force is reopening its satellite-control antenna competition, weighing owned hardware and leased ground capacity after the SCAR contract reset. The US Space Force has opened a new competition to expand the ground network that tracks, monitors and commands government satellites. The solicitation, issued on 16 September and updated on 24 September, follows the termination of an earlier agreement with AeroVironment. Its significance lies in the range of options now on the table: the service is inviting proposals for government-owned equipment, dedicated leased antennas and capacity on shared commercial networks.
